Sharon
Content Specialist, DNP
Sharon started her nursing career with a corporate background in computers and her associate degree in nursing. She continued her education while working full-time and earned her BSN, her MSN (with a specialization in nursing education), and her doctorate in nursing practice (with distinction). She maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her student career. Sharon worked for a seventeen-hospital system for over twenty years in various roles, including the emergency room, medical-surgical units, radiology, operating room, post anesthesia care unit (PACU), and same day surgery. She worked as a nurse educator for five years while also teaching at a local college as an adjunct professor. Sharon also managed an operating room, and currently works as a director of nursing for oncology care services, which includes both inpatient and outpatient departments. Sharon is ANCC board-certified in nursing professional development and education and is an active member of Sigma Thetea Tau, ONS, and NYONEL. Sharon helped to write and edit her current organization’s recent Magnet application exemplars, which earned them Magnet status. Sharon also teaches BLS, ACLS, and PALS for the American Heart Association.
