Barbara has been a published writer since she wrote a column for a local newspaper during high school. After receiving her BSN, magna cum laude, and her MBA, Barbara flourished in her medical and educational writing career.

Barbara's nursing books include First Year Nurse: Wisdom, Warnings, and What I Wish I'd Known My First 100 Days on the Job and Change Your Career: Nursing as Your New Profession. Barbara has worked as a nurse at Stanford University, Stanford Hospital, the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, and NASA's Ames Research Center.

Barbara is an instructor for the Masters in Healthcare Management program at International Technological University. She is a doctoral candidate at ITU, writing her dissertation on e-Learning.
